Own The Outcome

How did I get here? Why is there month left at the end of my money? Why does the number on the scale continue to go up and not down? Why am I not living the life I expected? These are outcomes of actions. These are the results of choices and circumstances. Regardless of how we got to this point, we must own the outcome. Own the outcome, no excuses. If I didn’t make a budget and track my spending, I am going to have month left at the end of my money. If you go really deep and acknowledge that you made poor career choices or no career choices at all, you will have month left.

Own the outcome. Own the outcome. Poor nutrition, no meal prep, fried, fatty foods: the number on the scale will go up, not down. By now, we all know what a healthy lifestyle looks like. We know what to do, but somehow can’t seem to motivate ourselves to do it. Own it. If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you always got. Own the outcome! Not living the life you expected? What was the plan? Was there even a plan? Own the outcome.

Owning the outcome means acknowledging the current state of things and having a desire to want more, want better, to want things to change. Outcomes are rooted in desire. But they are fueled by motivation and action. Own it. Take responsibility for doing what needs to be done. In most instances, what needs to be done is not easy. What needs to be done may take time. What needs to be done may take money. Put in the effort. Along the way, stop complaining, stop making excuses, stop blaming others. Own it. Own the outcome.
